Agadir Airport Achieves Remarkable Passenger Growth
As of August 2026, Agadir-Al Massira Airport has recorded an impressive influx of passengers, totaling 2,498,637 travelers for the first eight months of the year. This marks a significant increase of 8.74% compared to the same period in 2025, as reported by the National Airports Office (ONDA). The boost in passenger numbers can largely be attributed to robust international travel, which saw 2,102,641 passengers, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 9.62%. Domestic flights also contributed positively with 395,996 travelers, a 4.31% increase from the previous year.
August alone was a particularly busy month for the airport, with a total of 318,550 passengers recorded, up from 297,485 in August 2025, which translates to a 7.08% rise. This surge in travel is indicative of Morocco's growing popularity as a tourist destination and the efficiency of its air transport infrastructure. Across the entire Kingdom, airports facilitated the movement of over 26 million passengers between January and August 2026, demonstrating an overall increase of 8.81% compared to the same timeframe in 2025. This trend is expected to continue as Morocco enhances its connectivity and attractiveness to both domestic and international travelers.
