Introduction of New Health Facilities in Morocco
On September 8, 2026, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection announced the inauguration of 15 new primary healthcare institutions across six regions in Morocco. This significant expansion follows the completion of rehabilitation and equipping projects aimed at enhancing healthcare services within the country.
Details of the New Healthcare Institutions
The newly established health facilities are strategically distributed among the regions of Casablanca-Settat, Guelmim-Oued Noun, Beni Mellal-Khenifra, the East, Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima, and Marrakech-Safi. According to an official statement from the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, which was shared with TelQuel Arabic, the region of Beni Mellal-Khenifra saw the introduction of four primary healthcare institutions, located in the provinces of Azilal and Khenifra.
In Azilal province, three health clinics named 'Kimi', 'Bouharazen', and 'Ait Ouirar' have commenced operations, while in Khenifra, the health clinic known as 'Sidi Bou Abad' has also opened its doors to the public. The region of Marrakech-Safi benefited from the launch of five new primary healthcare facilities in the province of Chichaoua. These include the urban health center of the second level 'Imintanout', the rural health center of the second level 'Adouiran', and the rural health center of the first level 'Mzouda', alongside two rural clinics named 'Bouzouka' and 'Laadialat'.
Moreover, in the Eastern region, three primary healthcare institutions have started operations, distributed between the provinces of Jerada and Berkane. In Jerada, the first-level rural health center 'Oulad Saleh' and the rural clinic 'Suweila' have been inaugurated, while in Berkane, the first-level urban health center 'Al Quds' has also commenced services. In the Casablanca-Settat region, the first-level urban health center 'Dar Bouazza' in the Nouaceur province is now operational. Furthermore, in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, the second-level rural health center 'Beni Jmel Mksoulin' in the province of Al Hoceima has opened its doors.
Lastly, in the Guelmim-Oued Noun region, a tuberculosis and respiratory diseases diagnostic center in the province of Guelmim has commenced its services. This center aims to enhance early detection and diagnosis of tuberculosis, as well as support patients suffering from tuberculosis and respiratory illnesses throughout their treatment process. The center's establishment is designed to strengthen diagnostic capabilities and follow-up, thereby improving treatment continuity for patients in the province.
