Strengthening the Morocco-France Partnership
On July 16, 2026, the 15th session of the High-Level Meeting (HLM) between Morocco and France commenced in Rabat, co-chaired by Moroccan Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch and French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu. This significant gathering symbolizes the exceptional partnership that has been enhanced between Morocco and France, led by their respective Heads of State, His Majesty King Mohammed VI and French President Emmanuel Macron.
The meeting follows a series of bilateral discussions among government officials from both nations, and it is expected to feature the signing of several agreements aimed at revitalizing and further enhancing Moroccan-French relations. Notably, the Moroccan delegation includes high-profile ministers such as Abdelouafi Laftit, Minister of the Interior; Nadia Fettah, Minister of Economy and Finance; Ryad Mezzour, Minister of Industry and Commerce; and Ahmed El Bouari, Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests.
A Diverse Delegation Representing Both Nations
The Moroccan cabinet also sees participation from Mohamed Saad Berrada, Minister of National Education, Preschool, and Sports; Abdessamad Kayouh, Minister of Transport and Logistics; Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication; Abdeltif Loudyi, Minister Delegate in Charge of National Defense Administration; Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, Minister Delegate in Charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform; and Omar Hjira, Secretary of State in Charge of Foreign Trade.
On the French side, the delegation includes Laurent Nunez, Minister of the Interior; Roland Lescure, Minister of Economy, Finance, and Industrial, Energy, and Digital Sovereignty; Sabrina Roubache, Minister Delegate in Charge of Education and Vocational Training; Eléonore Caroit, Minister Delegate in Charge of Francophonie, International Partnerships, and French Citizens Abroad; and Annie Genevard, Minister of Agriculture.
