The Ministry of National Education, Primary Education, and Sports has officially informed all parents, guardians, students, educational staff, and the general public that the school entry for the 2026-2027 academic year will occur on the predetermined schedule in accordance with Ministerial Decision No. 047.26, issued on July 3, 2026, regarding the organization of the academic year.
Key Dates for School Entry
In a recent statement, the ministry clarified that members of the educational administration and management staff, as well as inspection and monitoring officials, are required to report to their workplaces on September 1, 2026, to sign the entry records. Subsequently, teachers and educational researchers will join their respective educational institutions on September 2 to complete the necessary documentation. The entry for preschool children, first and second graders of primary education, first-year students of lower secondary education, and common core students of upper secondary education will begin on September 3. Following this, students in the third and fourth grades of primary education, second-year students of lower secondary education, and first-year baccalaureate students will commence on September 4.
Moreover, September 5 has been designated for the entry of fifth and sixth graders of primary education, third-year students of lower secondary education, and second-year baccalaureate students. The ministry emphasized that September 7 marks the official and mandatory start of classes across all educational levels and branches. It also noted that classes for non-formal education and second-chance programs will commence on October 5, 2026.
The ministry reiterated its call for all educational stakeholders, administrators, families, and partners to engage collectively in ensuring the success of this school entry and to secure the educational time and learning opportunities for all students across various educational institutions.
