Following her accident, the company that employed her ceased all payments, forcing her to seek new opportunities in Marrakech. However, her situation deteriorated further when she became involved with a man who deceived her under the pretense of being a doctor, and later exhibited violent behavior toward her.
In her account, she reveals that this man proposed marriage, lured her into a false sense of security, and ultimately stole around 4,000 euros that she had set aside for rent, medical treatments, and other essential expenses. After filing a report with the Moroccan police, she was granted a restraining order against him. However, she claims that the order was violated shortly afterward, resulting in another instance of aggression.
Now, Aguilar Halak finds herself stranded in Marrakech, unable to work due to her injury and isolated from support. In her urgent video message, she aims to raise nearly three million pesos, the amount necessary to purchase a ticket back to Argentina. She articulates her motivation for sharing her story, stating, "I don’t want to be another statistic. I can no longer remain silent."
