From September 22 to 24, 2026, the coastal city of Agadir will shed its image as merely a beach resort, embracing its new role as a continental culinary capital. This transformation will coincide with the fourth edition of TOC Africa, a significant gastronomic event that will bring together three major competitions under one roof: the Bocuse d’Or Africa, the African Pastry Cup, and La Liste Africa. Organized by Rahal Event, a subsidiary of the Rahal Group and held under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, this event will take place across several iconic venues in the Agadir region.
The festivities will kick off on September 22 at the Domaine Limoune with the La Liste Africa ceremony, which honors the continent's finest dining establishments and culinary professionals. The heart of the competition will then shift to the Palais des Congrès Les Dunes d’Or in Taghazout Bay, where the African Pastry Cup will unfold on September 23, followed by the prestigious Bocuse d’Or Africa competition on September 24. Participants in these contests will have five hours and thirty minutes to complete their technical challenges, all while being scrutinized by a panel of professional judges known for their high standards.
Morocco Defends Its Culinary Titles Against Six Competing Nations
Six nations will vie for continental supremacy in these culinary competitions. In the pastry category, Morocco will face off against Algeria, Egypt, Senegal, Ivory Coast, and Mauritius. Meanwhile, the Bocuse d’Or Africa will feature fierce competition from Tunisia, Egypt, Senegal, Ivory Coast, and Mauritius, all hoping to dethrone the Moroccan team, which has held both titles since the 2024 edition held in Marrakech.
The Moroccan team, composed of skilled chefs, is prepared to defend its titles with a tight-knit squad. Abdessamad Dandani will represent Morocco in the Bocuse d’Or Africa, accompanied by commis Ahmed El Hilali and coach Issam Rhachi, all operating under the leadership of Rachid Maftouh. In the pastry competition, El Mehdi Benbiga will compete in the chocolate category, while Mourad Msour will represent the team in the sugar category, with the team being led by Mohamed El Yazidi.
