Agadir Launches Major Road Improvement Project in Drarga

A significant road construction project has been initiated in the municipality of Drarga, located within the prefecture of Agadir Ida-Outanane, involving a total investment of 130 million dirhams. This ambitious undertaking focuses on the development and rehabilitation of the Abbassiyines Road, alongside the requalification of the entrance to the municipality. The project was officially commenced on Friday, with the presence of Saïd Amzazi, the Wali of the Souss-Massa region and governor of Agadir Ida-Outanane.

The roadworks will cover a stretch of 6.4 kilometers and are expected to be completed within a maximum timeframe of 18 months, as stated by Hicham El Faleh, the general director of Al Omrane Souss-Massa. In addition to the road resurfacing, the plan also includes the creation of green spaces and enhancements to public lighting, aiming to improve traffic conditions and ensure the safety of users on this vital route that supports the urban development of Drarga.

This project is being executed through a partnership involving the Wilaya of the Souss-Massa region, the municipality of Drarga, and Al Omrane Souss-Massa, with funding being provided by the municipality. The initiative is also designed to facilitate smoother travel between Drarga and its neighboring areas, particularly in the context of ongoing urban expansion and rising demands for infrastructure and mobility.

The official launch of the construction was attended by the president of the Drarga municipality and representatives from various relevant services.
