Agadir Hosts Innovative Space Camp for Young Minds
In a groundbreaking initiative aimed at enhancing scientific education, the city of Agadir, Morocco, is set to host the country's inaugural children’s space camp, named the ASTROKIDS Space Camp. Scheduled to take place from May 5 to May 8, 2026, this unique program is organized by the Moroccan Association for Space Studies and aims to inspire young learners with a passion for the sciences and space exploration.
The camp will take place at the Souss Massa Innovation City and will welcome thirty students from the fifth and sixth grades of primary school. These participants have been carefully selected based on their strong interest in science and space, with the goal of providing them with an immersive educational experience that is both enjoyable and enriching. Over the course of six days, the children will explore fundamental concepts of space science through engaging educational activities that combine learning with hands-on experimentation.
The organizers of this pioneering event hope to stimulate scientific curiosity among the participants and ignite early aspirations in technological fields. This camp represents a broader ambition to cultivate a new generation of Moroccan talents who can eventually contribute to the development of a national space program. By investing in the education of young minds and fostering their interests in science and technology, the ASTROKIDS Space Camp aims to lay the foundation for Morocco's future in space exploration.
