The Agadir Police Department has recently responded to a misleading social media post regarding the alleged inaction of police officers in response to a citizen's report on nighttime disturbances. The post, which was shared by activist Mohamed Reda Tawgni, claimed that officers failed to act when alerted about noise complaints in a neighborhood last Tuesday.
In an effort to clarify the situation and correct the misinformation presented in the post, the Agadir Police Department issued a statement confirming that they conducted a thorough review of the incident. Their findings indicated that there was indeed an immediate response to the citizen's call. Officers were dispatched to the scene; however, by the time they arrived, the individuals responsible for the disturbances had already left.
The police department elaborated on their emergency response procedures, explaining that all calls received through the emergency number are processed electronically. This system connects the command and coordination room directly with mobile emergency police units, allowing for real-time monitoring of response times and ensuring no delays occur in addressing urgent situations.
Additionally, the investigation revealed that no further calls reporting similar criminal activities were received by Agadir police. There was also no evidence to support the claim that the complainant attempted to contact the police patrol that responded to the incident.
