Agadir Police Clarifies Response to Noise Complaint

On March 26, 2026, the Agadir Police Prefecture responded to a social media post that disseminated inaccurate information regarding a citizen's call to police to report nighttime noise disturbances in an Agadir neighborhood. This post made unfounded allegations about the alleged failure of the police to intervene and fulfill their duty at the scene of the incident.

In an effort to clarify the situation and correct the misinformation circulating, the Agadir Police Prefecture confirmed that a review of the data and records available from public security services showed that an immediate response was made following the phone call received on the day in question. Officers from the local police station arrived at the location, only to find that the suspects had already fled the scene prior to their arrival.

To provide further clarity, the National Security services explained that emergency calls made by citizens through the emergency number 19 are processed electronically, as part of an information system that connects the command and coordination center with mobile police units. This mechanism ensures real-time monitoring and control of the police's responsiveness to such calls, thereby preventing any lapses or negligence in their handling.

Subsequent investigations revealed that the Agadir police had not received any additional calls reporting further incidents and that there was no objective evidence indicating the complainant had attempted to contact the responding police patrol afterward. In reaffirming their commitment to addressing any issues that may compromise the public's sense of security, the Agadir Police Prefecture reiterated its dedication to responding promptly and effectively to all concerns raised by citizens.
