New Anti-Explosives Unit Established in Agadir
Agadir has recently become home to the eighth regional unit of bomb disposal experts of the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) in Morocco. This elite unit is tasked with the critical responsibility of detecting suspicious devices during major events and providing technical expertise for regional judicial investigations. The announcement of this deployment was made on Thursday by the Agadir police prefecture during a ceremony held at the command center.
This newly established unit represents the eighth anti-explosives team set into operation by the DGSN across Morocco, following similar units in major cities including Rabat, Casablanca, Fès, Tanger, Oujda, Marrakech, and Laâyoune. The operational purpose of this brigade is to enhance the support services of the decentralized police units. The roles assigned to these specialized professionals are diverse and span various operational areas, reinforcing the overall security framework within the region.
