July 2026 marked a significant consolidation of the tourism dynamics in Agadir, with an impressive increase of 2.58% in arrivals and 3.28% in overnight stays. The occupancy rate reached a commendable 68%. As August approaches, the outlook remains optimistic, with both hotel and rental segments already fully booked. Over the first seven months of 2026, Agadir has welcomed more than 3.7 million overnight stays, reflecting a growth of 7.60%, alongside a total of 881,372 arrivals in classified hotels, showcasing a robust increase of 5.04% compared to the previous year.
After a first semester characterized by a notable rise in arrivals and overnight stays of 5.56% and 8.54% respectively, the tourism indicators for July further affirm this positive trend. All classified hotels across the destination, including Agadir, Taghazout, Aourir, and Imi Ouaddar, have experienced this uplift. The latest statistics released by the Souss-Massa Regional Tourism Council (CRT) for July reveal a total of 149,000 arrivals in that month, compared to 145,256 the previous year, marking a 2.58% increase. Concurrently, overnight stays surged by 3.28%, reaching 652,782 nights.
Positive Trends and Market Performance
Notably, aside from the British market, domestic holiday flows traditionally peak in August within the classified hotels of the destination. The average occupancy rate also followed an upward trajectory, increasing from 67.58% to 68.02%, reflecting a rise of 0.66 percentage points. The average length of stay for July stood at 4.38 days, a slight increase from 4.35 days in 2025. July was particularly marked by sustained growth from the British market, which saw a 9.18% increase in arrivals, climbing from 29,925 in July 2025 to 32,671 in July 2026. In contrast, the national market experienced a slight decline of 1.92%, with 61,148 arrivals in July 2025 dropping to 59,976 in July 2026. The French market also saw a decrease of 14.07% in arrivals during this month, from 23,137 to 19,881.
The upward trajectory in Agadir's tourism performance over the first seven months of 2026 confirms a consistent growth pattern that has persisted for more than three years. From January to July 2026, the destination welcomed a total of 881,372 tourists, compared to 839,053 during the same period in 2025, which translates to an overall growth of 5.04%. This year, Agadir is set to surpass the one million tourist mark for the second consecutive time by August 2026. This dynamic is even more pronounced in total overnight stays, which exceeded 3.797 million units, reflecting a 7.60% increase compared to the previous year's 3.529 million nights. The positive differential of 268,273 nights indicates the destination's ability to retain visitors for longer periods, bolstered by enhanced connectivity through new flight routes.
