The Casablanca-Settat region has demonstrated remarkable growth in its vegetable cultivation for the 2025-2026 agricultural campaign, achieving a notable increase of 12% compared to the previous year. This year, a total of 56,709 hectares have been cultivated, surpassing the projected targets by 3%. The successful performance can be attributed to favorable climatic conditions, which have significantly revitalized a sector that has previously struggled with drought. The productive autumn, winter, and spring crops have all exceeded their expected thresholds, showcasing rates of achievement at 107%, 117%, and 106%, respectively.

The exceptional weather this year, characterized by ample rainfall, has played a crucial role in enhancing agricultural productivity. For instance, the autumn vegetable cultivation spanned 17,439 hectares, primarily focusing on potatoes (7,040 hectares), onions (2,920 hectares), and carrots (2,910 hectares). In the winter season, 19,386 hectares were dedicated to various crops, including 9,530 hectares of potatoes and 4,550 hectares of onions. The spring crops also showed impressive figures with 14,248 hectares planted, comprising 2,692 hectares of potatoes and 2,390 hectares of onions. Furthermore, the summer cultivation has begun on 5,636 hectares, representing 59% of the planned area.
