Ahly's Youssef Belammari Faces Setback Due to Adductor Injury

In a recent announcement, the prominent Cairo football club, Ahly, revealed that their Moroccan international left-back, Youssef Belammari, is currently sidelined due to an adductor injury. The club's statement, released on Tuesday, indicated that the 27-year-old player was unable to participate in Monday's friendly match, where Ahly secured a 3-1 victory against their league rivals ZED. Following a thorough medical examination conducted by the club's physician, Ahmed Gabballah, it was confirmed that Belammari has sustained a severe tear in his adductor muscle.

The Ahly statement elaborated that Belammari will embark on a rehabilitation program aimed at helping him regain fitness and ultimately return to training. However, the club did not specify the duration of his recovery, leaving fans and teammates in anticipation of his comeback. Since joining the club in January on a three-and-a-half-year contract from the Moroccan team Raja Casablanca, Belammari has participated in 11 matches across various competitions but has yet to find the back of the net.

As the defending champions, Ahly is currently positioned third in the league standings with a total of 44 points, trailing behind the leaders, Zamalek, who have a game in hand. The situation underlines the importance of having a fully fit squad as they aim to reclaim their top position in the league.
