Air Transat Launches Non-Stop Flights from Montreal to Agadir: A New Gateway to Morocco

Air Transat Expands Routes with Agadir Connection

Air Transat has officially launched its much-anticipated non-stop route between Montreal and Agadir, with the inaugural flight TS492 taking off on Friday, June 12. This new Moroccan destination marks the airline's second direct service from Montreal, following its existing route to Marrakech. The seasonal flights will operate weekly on Fridays and will continue until October 23, 2026, making it a significant addition to Air Transat's network.

Exclusive North American Connection to Agadir

With the introduction of this route, Air Transat proudly positions itself as the only airline providing non-stop flights to Agadir from North America. Sébastien Ponce, Chief Revenue Officer at Transat, emphasized the importance of this launch, stating, "The introduction of the Agadir route reflects our ambition to enhance exclusive access to Morocco while expanding our footprint across the African continent." He highlighted that this initiative responds to the increasing demand for travel to Morocco and aims to foster tourism development and strengthen community ties between Canada and Morocco.

Furthermore, Karl Brochu, Vice President of Airport Operations and Air Service Development at ADM Aéroports de Montréal, expressed his enthusiasm for the new connection, noting that it allows travelers to explore Agadir, a sunny destination celebrated for its stunning beaches and rich Moroccan heritage. He added that this service would not only enhance tourism but also facilitate economic, cultural, and bilateral relationships between Quebec and Morocco.

In collaboration with Air Transat, Siham Fettouhi, Executive Director for North America at the MNTO, shared her excitement about providing Canadians with improved and consistent connectivity to Agadir. As the cultural and geographical distance between Canada and Morocco diminishes, she emphasized the importance of celebrating the unique experiences and destinations that Morocco offers to Canadian travelers. The growing interest among Canadians to explore Morocco is seen as a natural progression of the increasingly robust connectivity between the two nations.

The flights will be operated using the Airbus A321LR, a state-of-the-art aircraft known for its efficiency and passenger comfort. Onboard, travelers can expect a thoughtfully designed cabin with ergonomic seating and a cutting-edge entertainment system in both Economy Class and Club Class. Air Transat's commitment to excellence has been recognized globally, as the airline was voted the World’s Best Leisure Airline at the Skytrax World Airline Awards for 2026.
