AKAN Collection Showcases Exceptional Moroccan Hospitality

In its inaugural appearance at the renowned PURE Life Experiences event, scheduled to take place from September 8 to 10, 2026, at the Palais des Congrès in Marrakech, AKAN, A Moroccan Collection is set to captivate international luxury travel professionals. This distinguished collection will present a unique interpretation of Moroccan hospitality that is deeply rooted in tradition yet firmly aligned with contemporary expectations, showcased through three emblematic properties.

AKAN Collection champions a distinctive philosophy that transcends uniform international standards, aiming to transform every stay into an immersive and unforgettable experience. The group is driven by the belief that it is essential to preserve the essence and memory of each location while integrating them with modern aspirations. This approach, which intertwines rigor, discretion, and authenticity, will be unveiled to the global community of travel designers and trendsetters, who are invited to explore an intimate and refined aspect of Morocco.

Three Unique Homes, Three Distinct Experiences

The strength of the AKAN collection lies in the individual character of each property, inviting guests to enjoy complementary experiences. The Villa des Orangers, a discreet riad from the 1930s located at the gates of the Medina, is the first Relais & Châteaux in North Africa, recently awarded a Michelin Key. This establishment exudes a subtle luxury where time seems to stand still behind an unassuming door. In the heart of the Palmeraie, Les Deux Tours unfolds its charm across three lush hectares. Designed by architect Charles Boccara as an Arab-Andalusian village, this estate resembles an Eden where hospitality is experienced as an art of leisure. Lastly, El Fenn, an iconic artistic address in the Medina, comprises eight interconnected riads that house one of Morocco's most significant collections of contemporary art, creating a captivating dialogue between tradition and modern creation.

Participating in PURE Life Experiences marks a pivotal moment for AKAN Collection, which aspires to develop a true circuit of discovery throughout Morocco in the medium term. Each new property added to the collection will aim to reveal a different facet of the country, its history, and its landscapes. A high-level delegation will convey this message in Marrakech, including Eros Abrile, Chief Operating Officer, Wafa Laksiri, Marketing & Press Director, and the directors of the three properties: Souheïl Hmittou (La Villa des Orangers), Mohamed Hejjaj (Les Deux Tours), and Amine Belkhayat (El Fenn).

AKAN, A Moroccan Collection is the first collection of luxury boutique hotels wholly owned by a Moroccan family. Founded by Jalil Benabbés-Taarji and his son Youssef, it is supported by the Dar Taarji family group, which has been active in the hospitality sector for three generations. Led by Eros Abrile, the collection ensures the management and development of its homes with a shared commitment to excellence and discretion. Each property is selected for its unique identity and cultural roots, maintaining its individuality while sharing a common vision: to make hospitality a true act of cultural transmission.
