Strengthening Morocco-Egypt Relations Through High-Level Discussions
On April 6, 2026, Moroccan Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch met with his Egyptian counterpart, Mustafa Madbouly, in Cairo. This meeting took place on the sidelines of the inaugural session of the Moroccan-Egyptian Joint Coordination and Follow-up Committee. The high-profile Moroccan delegation accompanying Akhannouch included key figures such as Nasser Bourita, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Abroad; Nadia Fettah, the Minister of Economy and Finance; Nizar Baraka, the Minister of Equipment and Water; and Ahmed Bouari, the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests.
Additionally, the delegation featured Ryad Mezzour, the Minister of Industry and Trade; Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, the Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication; Karim Zidan, the Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister responsible for Investment, Convergence, and Public Policy Evaluation; and Mohamed Ait Ali, Morocco's Ambassador to Egypt. The primary objective of this committee's meeting is to bolster the cooperative relationship between Morocco and Egypt while exploring various avenues for joint collaboration across different sectors.
