Amethis Completes Successful Exit from Globex
Amethis, a prominent investment firm, has officially announced its exit from its investment in Globex, a leading logistics and transport platform based in Morocco. This strategic transaction marks the culmination of a fruitful four-year partnership between Amethis, the company's founder and CEO Omar El Kadiri, and the dedicated management team at Globex. Since its inception in 1998, Globex has evolved from a specialist in express delivery services operating under a FedEx license to a comprehensive integrated logistics provider, offering a wide range of services including express delivery, freight forwarding, customs handling, transit, chartering, warehousing, and road transport.
Growth and Expansion Under Amethis Partnership
Amethis made its investment in Globex in 2022 with the goal of establishing Morocco's premier provider of end-to-end logistics solutions. Throughout their collaboration, the partnership resulted in significant achievements, including a substantial expansion of Globex’s industrial customer base and logistics infrastructure, as well as enhanced operational capabilities. A pivotal moment in this partnership occurred with the acquisition of Logic Transport in 2024, which enabled Globex to offer both domestic and international B2B road transport services, thereby allowing the company to cover a wider segment of the logistics value chain.
Wilfried Poyet, senior partner at Amethis, remarked, “Our investment in Globex exemplifies Amethis’ strategy of collaborating with ambitious entrepreneurs to develop regional champions. We partnered with Omar El Kadiri and his team to implement a value creation strategy that integrated organic growth, strategic mergers and acquisitions, operational excellence, organizational strengthening, and a commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) transformation. In less than four years, we have successfully positioned Globex as a national leader in integrated logistics. This successful exit underscores the exceptional quality of the management team, the robustness of the business model, and the disciplined execution of our shared long-term vision. We express our gratitude to Omar and the entire Globex team for their unwavering trust, commitment, and outstanding execution throughout our partnership, and we extend our best wishes for their continued success in the next chapter of the company’s journey.”
Omar El Kadiri also shared his thoughts, stating, “Our partnership with Amethis has been crucial in driving Globex’s transformation over the past four years. Amethis not only provided the necessary growth capital but also acted as a strategic partner, assisting us in executing our growth strategy, facilitating the acquisition and integration of Logic Transport, strengthening our organizational framework, and advancing our sustainability initiatives. Together, we have developed a more robust and resilient company that is well-prepared for its next developmental phase. We are thankful for Amethis’ commitment and the trust that has been the hallmark of our partnership throughout this journey.”
