Ana Boyer, at the age of 37, has gracefully stepped back into the spotlight in Barcelona, exuding a calm demeanor that reflects her experience in navigating social events. However, beneath that composed exterior lies the excitement of a new mother eager to reunite with her newborn baby. The youngest daughter of Isabel Preysler, Ana is married to tennis player Fernando Verdasco and is a mother to four children: Miguel, Mateo, Martín, and the newest addition, Mia. Just six weeks after welcoming her first daughter, Ana made her appearance at the newly refurbished Casa Codina in Barcelona, located at Passeig de Gràcia, 94.
The boutique of the jewelry brand Rabat has been transformed into an immersive space designed to take guests through the four seasons via a sensory experience. Within the ambiance filled with illuminated showcases, soft curves, and pieces that dance with light, Rabat celebrated the revitalization of one of its most iconic stores with an intimate and elegant gathering.
Introduction of the New 'Waves' Collection
Upon her arrival, Ana dazzled in a long, vanilla-colored dress with a sweetheart neckline and a graceful silhouette. At the photocall, she posed alongside Jordi Rabat, the president and CEO of Rabat, and his wife, Eva Palao, who is responsible for the architecture and interior design of the jewelry store. Together, they welcomed guests to the presentation of the newly designed boutique.
The wavy backdrop in light shades, complemented by the brand's signature red, appeared to be intentionally crafted to highlight the pieces from the 'Rabat Waves' collection that Ana showcased during the presentation. "Discovering this space for the first time after its renovation has been a beautiful experience," she shared with the media. "I loved exploring the collection, especially the bracelets; they possess such brilliance and add a very special touch to any look," she elaborated.
However, the most heartfelt jewel of the evening was undoubtedly little Mia. The newborn, the couple's first daughter after three sons, was the subject of many questions. "After having three boys, this news has brought us immense joy," Ana admitted. "We were prepared for the possibility of having four boys and were happy with that. We were already very accustomed to the energy and routine of having boys. But having a girl has filled us with excitement. Fernando is over the moon, and my mother is absolutely thrilled," she shared.
The 'M' Name Tradition
When discussing the tradition of naming their children with names beginning with 'M', Ana explained that it wasn't an intentional plan but rather a delightful coincidence that grew on them. "We really liked the name Miguel, then we fell in love with Mateo, and we noticed both names started with M. It amused us, so we decided to continue that trend," Ana said with a smile, recounting how all four of their children share the same initial.
Ana also spoke about her recovery journey following childbirth. She expressed gratitude for the compliments and noted that this postpartum experience has been more manageable than previous ones. "I believe this pregnancy suited me well. I have recovered more quickly this time than after my last pregnancy, but each pregnancy is unique," she remarked. Nevertheless, being away from her baby, even for a few hours, is challenging. "I saw her yesterday and will see her again in a few hours, so it’s tough, but it’s quick, and I try not to think about it too much," she added, attempting to downplay her feelings.
Ana revealed that her brothers are overjoyed with the arrival of their sister, eager to hold her, feed her, and spend time by her side. When asked whom Mia resembles, Ana opted for a noncommittal response: "Every week I feel differently. At first, I thought she looked like Miguel, then Martin, and another week, Mateo. I’m not sure yet," she described.
Isabel Preysler, the grandmother, also made her way into the conversation. Ana described a less common image of Isabel playing hide and seek with her grandchildren and crouching behind the sofas. "As a grandmother, she indulges her grandchildren a lot. My kids are obsessed with playing hide and seek with her every chance they get," Ana recounted.
When discussing Fernando Verdasco, Ana depicted him as a highly involved father. "He is incredibly engaged. He takes part in everything, always helps out, loves making plans with the kids, changes diapers, feeds them—whatever is necessary," she assured. The couple, who have lived outside Spain for several years, have established their family routine in Qatar, including their children's schooling and daily life, while they seize opportunities during Christmas, summer, and short trips to reconnect with family.
Looking ahead to summer, Ana shared that they had envisioned some travels, but the reality of managing four young children— the eldest being just seven—has necessitated a more cautious approach. "We've realized that such plans are not feasible with so many little ones. We’re looking at how to restructure our summer to make it easier," Ana confessed.
Nonetheless, any plans made will include the children, as she emphasized how difficult it is for them to be apart. When posed with the inevitable question of whether they might have a fifth child, Ana left little room for speculation: "The plan is to stop here."
