Arrest of Suspect in Marrakech Murder Case
On July 12, 2026, authorities from the Judicial Police in Marrakech, in collaboration with their counterparts in Settat and based on precise information provided by the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance, apprehended a citizen from sub-Saharan Africa. This arrest was made under suspicion of involvement in a homicide case linked to grievous bodily harm resulting in death.
According to security sources, initial investigation findings indicated that the suspect had engaged in a dispute with the victim, who also hails from a sub-Saharan African country. This altercation took place at a construction site in Marrakech for reasons that are still under investigation. Unfortunately, the conflict escalated into a violent attack, resulting in a fatal blow that claimed the victim's life on the spot.
The investigation and field research facilitated the identification of the suspect, leading to a successful police operation that resulted in his arrest in Settat on the same day. The suspect has since been placed under provisional detention as the investigation continues, overseen by the competent public prosecutor's office, with the aim of uncovering all circumstances and details surrounding this incident.
