Leonardo Maintains Second Place While Suany Struggles

In the thrilling backdrop of the Moroccan desert, Bolivian pilots Leonardo and Suany Martínez faced a challenging second stage of the Morocco Rally, which is part of the World Rally Raid Championship (W2RC). This stage included a grueling 300-kilometer timed section, followed by an additional 123 kilometers of liaison, starting and finishing in the picturesque town of Zagora.

Leonardo Martínez showcased his exceptional skills by again securing the second position in the Quad category. He completed the stage in an impressive time of 6 hours, 32 minutes, and 38 seconds, successfully navigating the tough terrain that the Moroccan desert presents. His performance was commendable, especially as he contended with the intense conditions that tested many participants.

Leading the stage was Lithuanian racer Antanas Kanopkinas, who finished a remarkable 1 hour, 35 minutes, and 21 seconds ahead of Leonardo. With this victory, Kanopkinas not only reinforced his position as the provisional leader of the category but also accumulated a total time of 9 hours, 2 minutes, and 2 seconds overall in the rankings.

In contrast, Suany Martínez faced significant hurdles during this stage. Having encountered mechanical issues from the very beginning, she experienced overheating problems with her quad once again, which ultimately forced her to withdraw from the competition. This unfortunate scenario has been a recurring theme for Suany, highlighting the unpredictable nature of rally racing.

The Morocco Rally is set to continue on Thursday with its third stage, once again centered around Zagora. The anticipation and excitement build as participants gear up to tackle new challenges in this demanding event.
