BYD Expands Electric Vehicle Offering in Morocco with ATTO 3 EVO and Sealion 5 Launch

On June 19, 2026, in Casablanca, BYD, the leading manufacturer of new energy vehicles in Morocco, marked a significant milestone by unveiling its latest models: the BYD ATTO 3 EVO and the BYD SEALION 5. These vehicles, available through Auto Nejma, the exclusive importer of the BYD brand, enhance the company's portfolio in the fully electric and plug-in hybrid vehicle segments, reinforcing BYD's stronghold in the Moroccan automotive market.

The ATTO 3 EVO is built on BYD's advanced e-Platform 3.0, delivering a fully electric driving experience characterized by silence, impressive performance, and zero emissions. In contrast, the SEALION 5 incorporates BYD's innovative Super Hybrid DM-i technology, which combines a thermal engine with electric propulsion to provide smooth driving while optimizing fuel consumption.

Customized SUVs for Moroccan Market Demands

The newly updated ATTO 3 EVO showcases a modern design and a reimagined interior. It is equipped with numerous connectivity and driving assistance technologies, including a rotating central display, compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as an intelligent voice assistant known as "Hi BYD." This SUV format, along with its comprehensive features, specifically targets families and urban drivers looking for a versatile vehicle.

On the other hand, the SEALION 5 emphasizes versatility. Thanks to its plug-in hybrid engine, it promises a quiet and economical driving experience while providing the necessary range for longer journeys. Its spacious interior and comfortable amenities make it suitable for both daily use and intercity travel.

Autonomy Tailored for Every Need

The ATTO 3 EVO boasts an impressive urban range of up to 710 kilometers based on the WLTP cycle, enabling drivers to fully embrace electric mobility for both daily commutes and longer trips. Meanwhile, the SEALION 5 Super Hybrid offers an electric-only range of up to 120 kilometers in urban conditions under the WLTP cycle and a total range of up to 1,016 kilometers. This configuration allows for prioritizing electric driving during everyday use while maintaining the flexibility of a thermal engine for extended distances, with a reported consumption of just 5.5 liters per 100 kilometers.

Both models are powered by BYD's Blade Battery, a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery developed in-house, known for its safety, durability, and reliability. This technology is one of the major strengths of the brand and is currently utilized in millions of vehicles worldwide. For BYD, this innovation aligns with a strategy aimed at making high-performance electrified mobility accessible and tailored to the needs of modern drivers.

The introduction of these two SUVs is supported by Auto Nejma's extensive national network, which spans several major cities across Morocco, including Casablanca, Rabat, Marrakech, Tangier, Agadir, Fez, and Oujda. Customers benefit from a six-year or 150,000 kilometers vehicle warranty, alongside an eight-year or 200,000 kilometers battery warranty. Auto Nejma also highlights competitive maintenance costs and a parts availability rate of 95% to ensure long-term support for its clientele.

Adil Bennani, General Director of Auto Nejma, stated, "The arrival of the ATTO 3 EVO and SEALION 5 represents a new phase in BYD's development in Morocco. These two models reflect our ambition to make electrified mobility more accessible by offering solutions tailored to the needs of Moroccan drivers, whether they prefer fully electric or plug-in hybrid options." The BYD ATTO 3 EVO is priced from 355,900 dirhams, while the BYD SEALION 5 Super Hybrid starts at 299,900 dirhams. With these two new offerings, BYD and Auto Nejma aim to accelerate the adoption of electrified vehicles in the Moroccan market and strengthen their position in a rapidly growing sector.
