The Road to the Tournament: Qualification Process
The TotalEnergies CAF AFCON PAMOJA 2027 not only marks a significant milestone as the first-ever AFCON to be hosted by three nations but also presents a unique opportunity to engage over 400 million people across the East African region. Following the completion of the Preliminary round, the journey towards this monumental tournament continues with the Draw for the Qualifiers scheduled for May 19, 2026. A total of 48 teams, including the three co-hosts, will participate in this qualification phase. The qualification matches will unfold across three FIFA International Windows, with the 48 teams organized into 12 groups of four. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Final Tournament.
