Carlo Ancelotti Set to Extend Tenure as Brazil's National Coach Ahead of World Cup

Carlo Ancelotti's Continued Leadership of Brazil's National Team

Carlo Ancelotti appears poised to continue his role as Brazil's national football coach beyond the upcoming World Cup. According to Samir Xaud, the president of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), he is "confident" that the extension of the Italian manager's contract will be confirmed prior to the World Cup scheduled to take place in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. This new contract is expected to see Ancelotti remain with the five-time world champions until 2030, enabling him to also oversee the next World Cup set to be hosted in Morocco, Portugal, and Spain.

Having taken the helm of the Selecao in 2025, the 66-year-old coach successfully guided the team to World Cup qualification. Recently, Ancelotti expressed a willingness to extend his stay, which aligns with Xaud's recent statements in Fortaleza, indicating that negotiations between the CBF and Ancelotti's representatives are underway to finalize the details of the new contract.

On May 18, Ancelotti is scheduled to announce his final squad for the World Cup in Rio de Janeiro. Brazil will compete in Group C, facing off against Morocco, Scotland, and Haiti in the tournament.
