In a remarkable shift within the travel landscape, Casablanca, Morocco, has emerged as one of the fastest-growing destinations for Canadian travelers in 2026. According to recent booking data released by FlightHub, the city has witnessed an astonishing 250% increase in bookings compared to the previous year. This surge reflects a broader trend in international travel preferences, as Canadians are increasingly seeking diverse and vibrant locations for their vacations.

FlightHub's third annual Unveiled report provides an in-depth analysis of booking and search data collected from October 2025 to August 2026, comparing it to the same timeframe from the previous year. The report reveals a significant shift in generational travel patterns, alongside a heightened interest in international destinations driven by major sporting events. Henri Chelhot, CEO of FlightHub, noted, "2026 has been a transformative year for travel, with major events both at home and internationally. This year's data gives us a unique snapshot of how Canadians travelled during the year, and we'll be watching to see whether these patterns continue into 2027."

Emerging Trends in Travel Destinations

The report highlights other notable increases in international travel, with Liberia, Costa Rica, following closely behind Casablanca with a 145% rise in bookings. Aruba and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, also showed impressive growth at 118% and 109%, respectively. Additionally, Hanoi, Vietnam, experienced a 98% increase in bookings, showcasing the diverse preferences of Canadian travelers. On the other hand, Las Vegas appears to be stabilizing after a significant decline, with a modest increase of 1.3% in 2026 after a 40% drop the previous year.

In the realm of overall international travel popularity, Delhi has ascended to the top position, surpassing Tokyo, which has now fallen to second place. The top five destinations also include London, Cancún, and Paris, with additional mentions of Manila, Lisbon, and Punta Cana, reflecting a varied palette of travel choices that Canadian tourists are embracing.
