Casablanca Finance City Achieves Global Recognition

In a significant leap forward, Casablanca Finance City (CFC) has surged into the ranks of the world's top 40 financial centers, as reported in the latest edition of the Global Financial Centres Index (GFCI) released on September 16, 2026, by the Z/Yen Group in collaboration with the China Development Institute. This prestigious recognition places CFC at the 38th position globally, reflecting an impressive climb of 11 spots from its previous standing. Notably, this places CFC third in the Africa and Middle East region, right after the prominent financial hubs of Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

The Growing Influence of Casablanca Finance City

With over 280 member companies, including major international banks such as Citigroup, JPMorgan, and Standard Chartered, as well as consulting giants like McKinsey, Deloitte, and KPMG, CFC has established itself as a formidable player in the financial sector. Additionally, it is home to multinational corporations such as Microsoft Africa and Huawei Technologies. Established in 2010, CFC offers a range of advantages to its member companies, including a favorable legal and tax regime that exempts them from foreign exchange controls on international transactions and offers a competitive corporate tax rate. These incentives are pivotal in attracting global investment and fostering business growth within the region.

Furthermore, the GFCI survey indicates that Casablanca Finance City, along with the Kigali International Financial Centre, is expected to enhance its prominence in the coming years. This trend is supported by the assessment criteria of the GFCI, which utilizes a mix of quantitative indicators and feedback from financial sector professionals worldwide. As global financial centers continue to evolve, CFC’s upward trajectory signals its potential to become increasingly influential in the global financial landscape.
