Ensuring Safe and Professional Slaughtering Services for Aïd Al Adha 2026

In anticipation of Aïd Al Adha 2026, the City of Casablanca has announced significant enhancements to its slaughtering services, aimed at providing the community with professional and secure options for animal sacrifice. This initiative was officially unveiled on May 18, 2026, as part of the local government's commitment to ensure that citizens can celebrate this important occasion in a safe and hygienic environment. The operation is being coordinated in collaboration with the local development company, Casablanca Prestations, to ensure optimal hygiene and safety standards during this busy period.

The municipal slaughterhouses, located on Boulevard du 10 Mars in Sidi Othmane, will accommodate animals intended for sacrifice, adhering strictly to existing health regulations. Local authorities emphasize that this initiative is particularly beneficial for families who may not have suitable facilities at home for performing the Aïd rituals, thereby allowing them to conduct these rites in a clean and secure setting that meets health requirements.

As in previous years, qualified teams will manage the slaughtering operations, ensuring compliance with the standards set forth by relevant authorities. Notably, the service will also include provisions for housing the animals for up to 48 hours before Aïd, specifically from Monday, May 25 to Tuesday, May 26, 2026. This advance housing is designed to ensure the well-being of the animals, providing them with a resting environment prior to the sacrifice.

Furthermore, the Casablanca municipal slaughterhouses, certified by the National Office for Food Safety (ONSSA), maintain dual ISO certifications—ISO 22000:2018 and ISO 9001:2015—along with Halal certification, reflecting their commitment to food safety and quality standards. This year’s Aïd Al Adha operations will be conducted within the available slaughtering capacity, with service fees remaining unchanged. The cost for slaughtering is set at 240 dirhams including tax, and accommodation for the animals will be charged at 24 dirhams per night.
