Casablanca to Welcome Esports Enthusiasts for FIFAe Championship
The Royal Moroccan Federation of Electronic Games (FRMJE) has officially announced that Casablanca will be the venue for the upcoming FIFAe Continental Championship Africa 2026, scheduled to take place from August 27 to 29. This prestigious event is set to be a collaborative effort, organized in conjunction with FIFA, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), the city of Casablanca, and the African Confederation of Esports (ACES), marking a significant milestone for the region's esports landscape.
Morocco has been selected as one of only five nations to host the FIFAe Continental Championships for 2026, joining the ranks of Malaysia, Brazil, Mexico, and Portugal. This event will unfold across five continents between August and September, representing a crucial stage on the Road to the FIFAe Finals 2026. This global campaign features participation from over 120 nations and serves as the final major continental event leading up to the FIFAe World Cup 2026.
By hosting the African segment of this international circuit, Morocco is not only enhancing its stature within the global esports community but also showcasing its capability to organize high-profile international competitions. The three-day event will feature participation from thirteen African countries, with eight teams competing in three different esports disciplines: eFootball Mobile on August 27, eFootball Console on August 28, and Rocket League on August 29.
The foremost teams from the continent will battle it out for the inaugural FIFAe African championship titles, as well as coveted spots at the FIFAe World Cup 2026. In each discipline, the two teams that emerge victorious in the finals will secure their qualification for this prestigious global competition.
