Driving Economic Growth through Strategic Forums

The Casablanca-Settat region is poised to harness economic dialogue as a catalyst for development. The Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Services of Casablanca-Settat (CCISCS) is in the process of launching five thematic economic forums aimed at uniting businesses, investors, institutions, and experts to address key challenges that extend beyond regional borders. This initiative aligns with the Chamber's strategic plan and action plan for 2026, focusing on supporting economic operators, enhancing public-private exchanges, and unveiling new avenues for cooperation and investment.

To effectively implement this ambitious program, CCISCS has initiated an international consultation regarding the organization of these five forums, which are scheduled to take place over the next twelve months, with specific dates and locations to be confirmed. Beyond their event-driven nature, these gatherings will create a thematic roadmap that encapsulates several economic priorities for Casablanca-Settat, including bolstering logistical connections, facilitating African openness, enhancing territorial attractiveness, and capitalizing on opportunities presented by energy and digital transitions.

Key Themes: Logistics, Public Investment, and Renewable Energy

The first forum will center on logistics, maritime transport, and connectivity, taking the form of an international event expected to attract around 300 participants. Given that Casablanca-Settat serves as Morocco's primary economic hub, the significance of these issues cannot be overstated. The competitiveness of businesses in the region is closely tied to the efficiency of supply chains, the quality of transport infrastructure, and their access to both national and international markets. The second international forum will focus on the Atlantic Initiative, envisioned as a strategic framework to enhance the regional integration of Sahel and Atlantic African nations, also gathering a projected 300 participants.

This thematic selection underscores a commitment to reposition regional development within a broader geo-economic context. The Atlantic opening raises vital questions about connectivity, trade, cooperation, and investment, areas where Moroccan economic operators can play a pivotal role. The planning of these two international forums highlights the ambition to further embed Casablanca-Settat businesses within the evolving economic dynamics on both African and international stages.

The third forum will delve into public investment and the enhancement of territorial attractiveness, aiming to welcome 200 participants. This discussion touches on a core challenge of regional development: transforming infrastructure and equipment investments into sustainable economic opportunities for local territories and businesses. The focus extends beyond financial resources to encompass the capacities of local stakeholders to leverage completed investments, promote productive activities, and improve the conditions for welcoming investors.

Through this gathering, CCISCS aims to foster exchanges among various territorial development actors, potentially identifying the necessary conditions to amplify the economic returns from public investment. This goal aligns with one of the overarching objectives of the forum program: to advocate for investment, innovation, and partnerships while facilitating the identification of cooperative opportunities.

The final two forums will address transformations directly impacting business competitiveness. The fourth forum, with a national scope, will focus on renewable energy and the green economy, bringing together 200 participants to discuss the prospects presented by the energy transition. For businesses, this shift entails multiple challenges, including managing energy costs, adapting production processes, meeting environmental standards, and developing new ventures. The fifth forum will explore creativity, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation as tools for economic development, also expected to engage 200 participants, placing new technologies at the forefront of discussions regarding evolving business models. Notably, CCISCS does not intend to limit these forums to a series of lectures; instead, the agenda will include debates, expert presentations, and participant interactions. Each session will conclude with a set of recommendations related to the discussed topics, alongside summaries of the sessions, discussions, and recommendations to ensure actionable outcomes.
