10th Edition of Casablanca Smart City Set to Inspire
The highly anticipated 10th edition of Casablanca Smart City, a pivotal event in urban innovation within Morocco and Africa, is scheduled to take place on June 10th and 11th at the iconic Sacré-Cœur site in Casablanca. This year’s theme, "Augmented Smart City: A Decade of Urban Animation in Culture, Sports, and Economy," commemorates ten years of dedicated efforts towards fostering a smarter, more inclusive, sustainable, and resilient metropolis.
Exploring the Future of Urban Living
As outlined in a press release from Casablanca Events & Animation, the 2026 edition aims to take a significant leap forward in reimagining the city of the future. This will be achieved by leveraging artificial intelligence (AI), digital twins, and emerging technologies to enhance human intelligence, promote citizen participation, and improve quality of life. Over the course of two days, the Sacré-Cœur will host public decision-makers, international experts, startups, researchers, urban planners, investors, community actors, and citizens who will engage in a diverse program featuring conferences, plenary sessions, workshops, exhibition spaces, a startup village, and a hackathon.
This anniversary edition invites participants to discover a new vision of the smart city—one that harmonizes technological innovation with resource efficiency, collective creativity, and social inclusion. The 2026 program will revolve around four key thematic areas: digital innovation and youth, economic dynamism, culture and sports as catalysts for urban transformation, and mobility coupled with quality of life. Notably, special emphasis will be placed on younger generations through the Smart City Hackathon, startup pitches, and various spaces dedicated to citizen innovation.
Ten years after its inception, Casablanca Smart City is poised to open a new chapter in its journey, aspiring to cultivate a vibrant, resilient metropolis that is future-focused. By continuing to facilitate the exchange of expertise among territories, it strengthens ties between Morocco, Africa, and major international cities. This event is not just a milestone; it embodies a collective vision for a better urban future.
