Positive Start for the Casablanca Stock Exchange

The Casablanca Stock Exchange kicked off trading on a positive note on Friday, with its main index, the MASI, showing a notable increase of 0.82%, reaching 18,631.32 points. In a similar vein, the MASI 20, which tracks the 20 most liquid stocks, advanced by 0.58% to 1,349.48 points. Furthermore, the MASI ESG index, which evaluates companies based on their environmental, social, and governance performance according to Moody's ESG Solutions, saw a rise of 1.27%, closing at 1,368.92 points.

Additionally, the MASI Mid and Small Cap index, representing the performance of smaller and medium-sized companies, also gained 0.6%, finishing at 1,800.18 points. Among individual stocks, Involys led the charge with a remarkable increase of 6.88%, reaching 146.90 dirhams, followed closely by Fenie Brossette at 6.49% to 380 dirhams, and SMI with a rise of 4.26% to 6,780 dirhams. Other notable performers included Managem, which increased by 3.59% to 1,645 dirhams, and Jet Contractors, which saw a 3.48% rise to 2,173 dirhams.

Conversely, some stocks experienced declines, with Aluminium du Maroc falling by 2.25% to 1,740 dirhams, Med Paper decreasing by 1.87% to 25.22 dirhams, and Cash Plus S.A dropping by 1.86% to 253.2 dirhams. Other stocks such as Résidences Dar Saada and Afriquia Gaz also registered losses, with declines of 1% and 0.92% respectively. Notably, the MASI had closed the previous day with an increase of 0.82%, indicating a sustained positive trend in the market.
