Casablanca Stock Exchange Experiences Decline

On April 15, 2026, the Casablanca Stock Exchange witnessed a downturn, with its main index, the MASI, slipping by 0.05% to close at 18,743.91 points. In contrast, the MASI 20 index, which encompasses the 20 most liquid stocks, recorded a modest increase of 0.48%, reaching 1,376.27 points. Meanwhile, the MASI ESG index, which evaluates companies based on their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) ratings according to Moody's ESG Solutions, saw a decline of 0.6%, settling at 1,327.62 points. Additionally, the MASI Mid and Small Cap index, reflecting the performance of small to medium-capitalization stocks, decreased by 0.25% to 1,932.72 points.

Internationally, both the FTSE CSE Morocco 15 Index and the FTSE CSE Morocco All-Liquid Index ended the session with losses of 0.24% and 0.05%, respectively, closing at 17,691.19 points and 16,105.25 points. Sector-wise, the indices for 'Mines' (-4.04%), 'Beverages' (-3.71%), and 'Financial Services and Other Financial Activities' (-1.61%) experienced the steepest declines. Conversely, sectors such as 'Engineering and Industrial Equipment' (+8.23%), 'Forestry and Paper' (+3.87%), and 'Chemicals' (+1.74%) demonstrated the strongest performance during the trading session.

Trading volumes reached 790.34 million dirhams, all of which were conducted on the central equity market, with notable transactions in Vicenne (188.31 million dirhams), Managem (94.28 million dirhams), and Résidences Dar Saada (45.81 million dirhams). The market capitalization stood at over 1,071.6 billion dirhams. Among individual stocks, the most significant gains were recorded by Stokvis Nord Afrique (+9.99% to 79.19 dirhams), Stroc Industrie (+9.97% to 193.5 dirhams), Ennakl (+7.05% to 55.45 dirhams), S.M Monétique (+4.46% to 585 dirhams), and Fenie Brossette (+4.35% to 312 dirhams). On the flip side, Salafin (-5.99% to 455.90 dirhams), Société des Boissons du Maroc (-4.74% to 2,191 dirhams), Afma (-4.45% to 1,180 dirhams), Eqdom (-4.32% to 1,330 dirhams), and Managem (-4.26% to 13,500 dirhams) faced the harshest declines.
