Casablanca Stock Exchange Sees Minor Decline

On June 19, 2026, the Casablanca Stock Exchange concluded its trading session with a slight downturn, as indicated by its primary index, the MASI, which fell by 0.02% to close at 18,353.29 points. Similarly, the MASI 20, representing the 20 most liquid stocks, experienced a decline of 0.1%, finishing at 1,337.15 points. In contrast, the MASI ESG, which tracks companies with the highest ESG ratings according to Moody’s ESG Solutions, saw a positive movement, gaining 0.69% to reach 1,314.64 points. However, the MASI Mid and Small Cap index, which showcases the performance of small and medium-sized companies, dropped by 1.3%, concluding at 1,851.87 points.

On the international front, both the FTSE CSE Morocco 15 Index and the FTSE CSE Morocco All-Liquid registered gains, closing at respective increases of 0.62% to 17,446.64 points and 0.22% to 15,787.36 points. Sector-wise, the most significant declines were observed in the "Forestry and Paper" sector, which fell by 3.85%, followed by "Real Estate Investment Companies" with a decrease of 3.35%, and "Engineering and Industrial Equipment" with a drop of 2.65%. Conversely, sectors such as "Electricity" (+2%), "Mining" (+1.87%), and "Agricultural Industry" (+1.39%) recorded the best performances for the day.

Trading volumes reached over 172.97 million dirhams, predominantly occurring in the central equity market, led by Holcim Maroc with transactions amounting to 20.57 million dirhams, followed by Attijariwafa Bank at 16.04 million dirhams and Itissalat Al-Maghrib at 14.06 million dirhams. The total market capitalization exceeded 1,053.69 billion dirhams.

In terms of individual stock performances, the most significant declines were seen in SMI, which dropped by 6.81% to reach 6,501 dirhams, followed by Zellidja S.A with a decrease of 5.98% to 202.15 dirhams, AGMA down by 4.01% to 6,910 dirhams, Med Paper falling by 3.85% to 25 dirhams, and Aluminium du Maroc, which saw a decrease of 3.27% to 1,891 dirhams. On a more positive note, stocks such as Salafin surged by 4.78% to 460 dirhams, Maghreb Oxygène by 4.54% to 372.9 dirhams, and Managem which increased by 3.2% to 14,350 dirhams, along with M2M Group and TotalEnergies Marketing Maroc recording gains of 2.8% and 2.19% respectively.
