The Casablanca Stock Exchange continued its downward trend on Thursday during the mid-session, with its primary index, the MASI, declining by 0.31% to reach 19,064.47 points. This downturn reflects ongoing fluctuations in the market as investors respond to various economic indicators and global trends.

In addition to the MASI, the MASI 20 index, which encompasses the 20 most liquid stocks, also experienced a drop of 0.26%, settling at 1,363.99 points. Similarly, the MASI ESG index, which tracks companies with the highest ESG ratings according to Moody’s ESG Solutions, fell by 0.51%, reaching 1,426.73 points. Conversely, the MASI Mid and Small Cap index, which highlights the performance of smaller and medium-sized capitalizations, managed to gain 0.08%, climbing to 1,818.92 points, showcasing some resilience amidst the broader market decline.

When examining individual stock performances, Maghreb Oxygène suffered the most significant decline, dropping 3.53% to 380 DH. Other notable losers included Label Vie, which fell by 2.36% to 4,101 DH, CTM with a decrease of 1.7% to 865 DH, Managem down by 1.58% to 1,865 DH, and Cartier Saada, which decreased by 1.48% to 23.94 DH. On the positive side, M2M Group led the gains with a remarkable increase of 5.42%, reaching 422.75 DH. Stroc Industrie followed closely with a rise of 4.86% to 192.95 DH, while Résidences Dar Saada, Disty Technologies, and IB Maroc.com also reported positive performances, increasing by 2.69%, 2.52%, and 1.88%, respectively.

The total trading volume for the session amounted to nearly 73.16 million DH, predominantly conducted in the central market, with significant transactions in stocks such as Managem (15.33 MDH), Résidences Dar Saada (10.85 MDH), and Akdital (9.16 MDH). The overall market capitalization exceeded 1.127 trillion DH, reflecting the scale and importance of the Casablanca Stock Exchange in the regional economy.
