This corrective movement affected all segments of the market, with the MASI 20 index, which encompasses the 20 most liquid stocks, declining by 1.60% to close at 1,222.15 points. This decline marks a significant underperformance of -17.74% since the beginning of the year. Meanwhile, the MASI ESG index limited its decrease to 0.99%, settling at 1,250.61 points. The MASI Mid index, representing medium-cap stocks, experienced the most pronounced drop of the session, losing 2.42% to close at 1,623.91 points.
In terms of market activity indicators, the total trading volume in the cash market amounted to 348.3 million dirhams. By the end of the session, the overall market capitalization adjusted to 994.23 billion dirhams. On the stock front, the list of the day’s biggest gainers was led by IBC, which surged by 8.91% to 53.90 dirhams, followed by Lesieur Cristal, which increased by 6.95% to 300 dirhams. The top three was rounded out by REB, which rose by 6.00% to 92.77 dirhams, BAL with a gain of 5.85% to 199 dirhams, and CRS, which climbed by 4.67% to 20.39 dirhams.
Conversely, SOT topped the list of declines, dropping by 9.99% to 314.10 dirhams, followed by MUT with a decrease of 6.22% to 211 dirhams, ADI down by 5.56% to 340 dirhams, SID which fell by 4.92% to 1,702 dirhams, and AKT which declined by 4.72% to 1,010 dirhams. In the futures market, contracts on the MASI 20 also followed the bearish trend across all maturities. The MASI20 FUTURE DEC26 contract settled at 1,218.40 points, down 3.09%, while the MASI20 FUTURE MAR27 contract decreased by 4.69% to 1,200.70 points. The MASI20 FUTURE JUI27 contract showed a variation of -2.48% at 1,191.10 points, and the MASI20 FUTURE SEP27 closed at 1,181.50 points, down by 4.85%. The total volume in this segment reached 731,040 dirhams.
