Positive Start for Casablanca Stock Exchange

The Casablanca Stock Exchange commenced trading on a positive note this Tuesday, with its benchmark index, the MASI, gaining 0.32% to reach 17,705.65 points. This encouraging performance sets a hopeful tone for the market as investors respond to recent economic signals.

In addition to the MASI, the MASI 20 index, which includes the twenty most liquid stocks, also saw a rise of 0.25%, climbing to 1,281.93 points. Another noteworthy index, the MASI ESG, which tracks companies with high Environmental, Social, and Governance ratings as per Moody's ESG Solutions, advanced by 0.58% to settle at 1,313.41 points. Meanwhile, the MASI Mid and Small Cap index, which reflects the performance of small and medium-sized companies, remained stable at 1,718.22 points.

Focusing on individual stocks, Sothema led the gainers with a notable increase of 2.5%, closing at 348.5 DH. Other significant performers included Taqa Morocco (+2.37% to 1,725 DH), Auto Hall (+2.27% to 64.39 DH), Afriquia Gaz (+2.07% to 3,695 DH), and Delta Holding (+2.05% to 50.77 DH). Conversely, the largest declines were observed in IB Maroc.com, which fell by 5.55% to 55.11 DH, followed by Med Paper (-4.13% to 23.2 DH), Stokvis Nord Afrique (-3.17% to 61 DH), SMI (-2.22% to 6,160 DH), and Wafa Assurance (-1.92% to 4,904 DH).

It is worth noting that the MASI had concluded the previous trading day with a loss of 0.95%, making today's upward movement particularly significant for market participants.
