Casablanca Stock Exchange Experiences Slight Decline

On Friday, July 17, 2026, the Casablanca Stock Exchange commenced trading with a notable dip, as its primary index, the MASI, recorded a decrease of 0.15%, settling at 17,761.4 points. This decline reflects a broader trend in the market where the MASI 20, which includes the 20 most liquid stocks, fell by 0.17% to 1,317.93 points. The MASI Mid and Small Cap index, which represents the performance of small and medium capitalizations, similarly dropped by 0.13%, closing at 1,767.68 points. The trading day was marked by significant individual stock movements, with Maghreb Oxygène suffering the most substantial loss, plummeting by 9.05% to 330.15 DH. Other notable declines included Aluminium du Maroc, which decreased by 5.44% to 1,720 DH, and S2M, which fell by 5.18% to 472.2 DH. Lesieur Cristal and Fenie Brossette also experienced significant losses, dropping by 4.82% and 3.31% respectively.

Conversely, some stocks exhibited resilience amidst the downturn. CTM led the list of gainers with a remarkable increase of 3.94%, reaching 896 DH. Jet Contractors followed closely with a gain of 2.1%, bringing its price to 2,092 DH. Other stocks, such as Involys, Mutandis, and Auto Hall, also recorded positive performance, with increases of 1.62%, 1.51%, and 1.46% respectively. Notably, the previous trading session concluded with a loss of 0.52% for the MASI, indicating ongoing fluctuations in the market.
