Casablanca Stock Exchange Reports Strong Weekly Performance

The Casablanca Stock Exchange has concluded the week from August 3 to August 7, 2026, on a positive note, showcasing substantial growth across its indices. The primary index, known as MASI, experienced an impressive increase of 5.72%, closing at 18,864.02 points. This upward trend reflects a robust market sentiment, with investors showing increased confidence in various sectors.

In addition to the MASI, the MASI 20 index, which tracks the performance of the 20 most liquid companies, rose by 4.02%, reaching 1,370.55 points. Meanwhile, the MASI ESG index, which comprises companies with the highest ESG ratings as determined by Moody's ESG Solutions, surged by 8.08%, closing at 1,380.92 points. The MASI Mid and Small Cap index, which monitors the performance of small and medium-sized listed companies, also saw a notable increase of 4.16%, ending the week at 1,827.42 points.

Sector-wise, the "Mines" sector stood out with the highest performance, soaring by 19.65%. Other sectors that recorded significant gains included "Chemicals," which rose by 15.51%, and "Holding Companies," which experienced an increase of 9.47%. However, the "Pharmaceutical" sector was the only one to register a decline, with a decrease of 2.07%.

Trading volumes exceeded 3.7 billion dirhams (MAD), indicating vibrant trading activity in the central stock market. Notable transactions were led by companies such as Managem, which accounted for 19.72% of trades, followed by Addoha at 9.97%, and Itissalat Al-Maghrib at 9.82%. The overall market capitalization surpassed 1.103 billion MAD, reflecting a healthy investment environment.

In terms of individual stock performances, Fenie Brossette saw the most significant increase, climbing by 39.77% to reach 382 MAD. Other notable gainers included Zellidja S.A, which rose by 29.09% to 345 MAD, and Managem, which increased by 23.20% to 1,625 MAD. Additionally, SNEP and SMI recorded gains of 16.63% and 11.86%, respectively.

Conversely, the stocks that saw the steepest declines included IB Maroc.com, which fell by 6.17% to 57.22 MAD, and Eqdom, which dropped by 5.86% to 1,478 MAD. Other notable decliners were Promopharm S.A, down by 2.91%, and Sothema, which decreased by 2.01%.
