Last month, Slovenia’s Klara Lukan and France’s Jimmy Gressier took home the honors, each setting new European records in their respective events—the women’s 10km and men’s 5km. This month, the nominees are listed in alphabetical order, along with their key achievements that showcase their outstanding capabilities in athletics.

Meet the Nominees

Mohamed Abdilaahi (GER) - Achieved his first-ever Diamond League victory in the 3000m event held in Shanghai and secured the third spot on the European all-time list with a remarkable time of 7:25.77.

Max Burgin (GBR) - Dominated the 800m race in Rabat, finishing with a world-leading time of 1:42.98, establishing himself as a formidable competitor on the global stage.

Simon Ehammer (SUI) - Not only won the decathlon in Gotzis but also set a world lead and Swiss record with a total of 8778 points, while achieving a world decathlon long jump best of 8.51m.

Francesco Fortunato (ITA) - Made history by establishing the inaugural European half marathon race walk record with an impressive time of 1:23:00 at the event in Podebrady.

Frederik Ruppert (GER) - Set a new European record in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 7:57.80 during the competition in Rabat, making him the first European athlete in history to break the 8-minute barrier in this event.
