Cegid Atlas: A Strategic Operational Hub in Casablanca
European cloud solutions leader Cegid has proudly inaugurated its new center of excellence, Cegid Atlas, situated on the 12th and 13th floors of the Cross Tower within the dynamic Casablanca Finance City (CFC). The official opening, which occurred on Tuesday, signifies Morocco's emergence as a critical operational platform that will serve both European and international markets, enhancing Cegid's global outreach and operational capabilities.
The launch of Cegid Atlas has seen the recruitment of 240 employees since June 2025, reflecting a robust commitment to local talent and expertise. The center is meticulously structured around four primary domains: client support, a Delivery & Services unit focused on cloud deployment, integration, training, and post-sales support, a dedicated research and development division, and comprehensive back-office functions encompassing finance, human resources, IT systems, and operational administration.
Importantly, Cegid emphasizes that Cegid Atlas is not merely an operational extension; rather, it is an essential component of the group's global structure, tasked with high-value missions directly linked to its main business divisions, especially in Retail and Enterprise sectors. Bruno Vaffier, Cegid’s CEO, highlighted the strategic significance of Casablanca, describing it as a location that complements the company’s international presence and strengthens its capabilities in serving both European and global markets. He noted that the center marks a pivotal evolution for Cegid, symbolizing a structured, enduring, and fully integrated effort within the company's broader ambitions.
Morocco: An Attractive Destination for International Tech Firms
The establishment of Cegid Atlas at CFC underscores Morocco's rising attractiveness for international technology companies in search of skilled talent in engineering, software development, and advanced digital services. Said Ibrahimi, Director General of the Casablanca Finance City Authority, affirmed that Cegid’s choice serves as a testament to the quality and competitiveness of the Moroccan talent pool, particularly in engineering, development, and programming domains.
Ibrahimi further emphasized CFC’s capability to draw in international service providers that offer high-value expertise, particularly in technology and research and development sectors. Tam Kaghat, President of Cegid Atlas, reiterated that Morocco's workforce is integral to the project's success, highlighting the country's reservoir of qualified, dedicated professionals adept at thriving in challenging technological environments. Kaghat noted that the Moroccan team has become a vital asset in enhancing the group’s international expertise and operational capacity.
The swift growth of personnel at Cegid Atlas mirrors the company's recognition of the depth of Morocco’s local skills market and the nation’s preparedness to host technology operations that meet international standards. This inauguration forms part of a broader transformation endeavor for Cegid, which has evolved significantly since its founding in Lyon in 1983. Today, Cegid operates on a fully SaaS model, distributing solutions across 130 countries and serving over one million clients, with reported annual revenues of €1.069 billion in 2025.
Cegid Atlas is also aligned with the company’s Forward.ai strategy, placing generative artificial intelligence at the forefront of its product development. Additionally, it fits into the group’s overarching strategy for the Iberia, LATAM & Africa zone, designating Casablanca as a regional hub that enhances existing operations across different geographies.
Cegid's association with Morocco dates back to 2008 when it first established a commercial office in Casablanca, which has since expanded to serve over 1,300 clients across 20 African countries. Notably, Morocco accounts for 50% of Cegid’s client base on the continent. The transition of the Casablanca office into a full subsidiary in 2016 marked a significant step, consolidating its distribution, development, and integration operations. With the launch of Cegid Atlas, the company embarks on its most ambitious expansion yet in Morocco, further solidifying Casablanca's role as a pivotal regional platform for technology services and the digital economy.
