During a recent press conference dedicated to highlighting the final preparations for this significant sporting event, organizers emphasized that this celebratory edition marks a pivotal moment in the tournament's history. The tournament has evolved into an essential bridge for tennis players aiming to showcase their skills on clay courts, attracting talent from far and wide. The tournament director, Hicham Arazi, remarked that the 40th edition represents a meaningful milestone that reflects the history and international prominence of this prestigious competition. He noted the impressive participation of players from over 25 countries, promising a high level of competition.

Furthermore, Arazi highlighted that the Royal Tennis Club of Marrakech is hosting this event for the tenth consecutive time, praising the club's commitment to ensuring the success of this major global tennis occasion. In a notable gesture, he mentioned that Moroccan players will receive invitations to provide them with a unique opportunity to meet the world elite and represent national tennis effectively.

Additionally, the tournament director expressed gratitude towards local authorities, supporters, partners, and especially the Royal Moroccan Tennis Federation, led by Faisal Araichi, for their ongoing support.

Significance of the 40th Edition for Marrakech and Morocco

Abdel Aziz Tifnouti, the head of the organizing committee, articulated that hosting the 40th edition of the Hassan II Grand Prix at the Royal Tennis Club of Marrakech is a 'great source of pride.' He highlighted the tournament's stature as the largest tennis event in Africa, which plays a crucial role in promoting the city of Marrakech and Morocco on the global sports stage, thanks in part to high-quality infrastructure and recognized organizational expertise. He extended thanks to all institutions and partners involved in making this event a success, particularly local authorities, the Marrakech-Safi Regional Council, and the Royal Moroccan Tennis Federation.

Tifnouti also acknowledged the role of the media in covering and promoting this sporting date, expressing hope that this celebratory edition will offer an exceptional sporting spectacle worthy of the competition's significance. Under the patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, this tournament is the only one in Africa sanctioned by the ATP 250, bringing together world-class players who compete annually for the title.
