Celebrating Academic Excellence: A Tribute to Outstanding Students in Essaouira

Recognition of Academic Achievements in Essaouira

Recently, the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of National Education, Preschool Education, and Sports in Essaouira organized an impressive ceremony to honor the exceptional students from the region for the academic year 2025-2026. This prestigious event took place in the coastal city of Essaouira and was graced by the presence of several distinguished guests, including the regional governor, Mohamed Rachid, local elected officials, heads of external services, educational staff, union representatives, as well as associations of parents and guardians, alongside numerous families of the honored students.

The ceremony was marked by the distribution of awards to recognize the outstanding achievements of students across various educational levels. In his address, the regional director of the Ministry, Nour Eddine Aloufi Alghzawi, highlighted the performance and results attained during the previous academic year, proudly announcing that for the sixth consecutive year, the regional directorate had secured the top position within the Marrakech-Safi Academy in terms of the success rate in the baccalaureate exams.

Impressive Success Rates and Continued Commitment to Education

Aloufi Alghzawi pointed out that the success rate reached an impressive 98.67%, with 4,235 candidates successfully passing out of a total of 4,292 who took the baccalaureate exams. These results firmly establish Essaouira as one of the most successful regional directorates within the Marrakech-Safi region. He noted that this remarkable achievement is the result of collective efforts and the responsible involvement of all educational stakeholders, reflecting the success of a territorial approach that prioritizes educational advancement and equal opportunities as key components of regional development.

The regional director also emphasized the ongoing support provided by the Essaouira province to the education sector, which has contributed to the expansion and improvement of educational offerings. This aligns with the reform projects outlined in the 2022-2026 roadmap aimed at building a high-quality public school system. In this context, he acknowledged the collaborative efforts between the province of Essaouira, the regional directorate, and various stakeholders, particularly under the National Initiative for Human Development. This initiative has notably enhanced school transport services, built and rehabilitated student dormitories, supported rural students, and implemented educational support programs, all of which have improved the conditions for schooling, reduced school dropout rates, and increased opportunities for success.

Furthermore, Aloufi Alghzawi reiterated the regional directorate's commitment to continuing efforts to enhance educational quality, uphold the principle of equal opportunities, and invest in human capital. This commitment is in line with the royal directives that emphasize making public education a fundamental lever for achieving sustainable development, spatial justice, and the appreciation of human capital. The event also featured artistic and musical performances by students from educational institutions, showcasing the diverse talents and skills present within Essaouira's schools.
