Significant Outcomes of the Morocco Academia Cyber Competition 2026
In a significant event that underscores Morocco's commitment to advancing its cybersecurity landscape, the fourth edition of the Morocco Academia Cyber Competition 2026 took place in Marrakech, graciously held under the patronage of the Royal Majesty. The ceremony, presided over by the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation, Azeddine Medaoui, alongside the Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of National Defense Administration, Abdellatif Loudiyi, was a celebration of excellence in cybersecurity education and innovation on April 7, 2026.
This year's competition witnessed an impressive turnout, with more than 1,100 teams participating, totaling over 3,600 individual entries from various universities and higher education institutions across the kingdom. This remarkable engagement reflects the burgeoning interest and dynamic growth within the realm of cybersecurity training and digitization in Morocco, highlighting the nation’s proactive approach towards enhancing its digital security capabilities.
In terms of achievements, the first place was awarded to a team from the National School of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science in Berkane (ENIAD), which is affiliated with the University of Mohammed I in Oujda. The second position was secured by the team from the 1337 Coding School in Tetouan, while the third place went to the team from the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University. These accolades not only honor the hard work and dedication of the participants but also serve to inspire future generations in the field of cybersecurity.
This competition aligns with Morocco's National Cybersecurity Strategy aimed at 2030, which emphasizes the importance of human capital development as a foundational element.
