Recognition of Ivorian Excellence in AI Solutions
The African CIO Awards 2026, held in Marrakech, highlighted the remarkable technological achievements of Côte d'Ivoire, showcasing the nation's potential in digital transformation. During this prestigious event, Ivorian innovators Patrick Somet from the National Agency for Universal Telecommunications Service (ANSUT) and Auger Cadet Seoulou from the Ministry of Justice were celebrated for their groundbreaking contributions in the "AI For Good" category. Their solutions not only address significant societal needs but also enhance the daily lives of citizens through innovative technology.
Innovative Solutions Transforming Lives
Patrick Somet was honored for his revolutionary project called Jùlaba, an advanced voice AI solution that empowers local traders to manage their businesses in their native languages, thus promoting unprecedented financial inclusion. As he proudly received his award, Somet emphasized the impact of this technology on collecting field data and its contribution to public decision-making in the country. He stated, "Africa no longer has to wait; it is building its future today," acknowledging the continuous support from his team and leadership at ANSUT.
Alongside him, Auger Cadet Seoulou received accolades for the successful implementation of a digital platform for legal documentation, which simplifies the process for obtaining nationality certificates online. This initiative, launched on January 30, 2025, under the direction of Minister Sansan Kambilé, has dramatically improved administrative efficiency and accessibility for Ivoirians, reflecting a commitment to transparency and effectiveness in governance.
Both Somet and Seoulou were among the thirty-five finalists who faced rigorous evaluations during the auditions at GITEX Africa. Their presentations, under the scrutiny of a jury led by Elisabeth Moreno, showcased how AI, when aligned with social goals, acts as a catalyst for sovereignty and sustainable development. By recognizing these two experts, the African CIO Awards reinforce Côte d'Ivoire's pivotal role in the continent's digital evolution.
