Celebrating National Reading Challenge Success in Morocco

Highlighting Academic Excellence at the National Reading Challenge

On the morning of Tuesday, May 5, 2026, the National Center for Dance and Choreography in Rabat hosted the grand finale of the "Arab Reading Challenge" in its tenth edition. The event saw a remarkable presence from the Regional Academy of Education and Training for the Marrakech-Safi region, culminating in commendable results on a national scale.

During this prestigious event, student Khadija Boumlik, who studies at the "Talouh" middle school in the Rahamna provincial directorate, was crowned the national champion of the Arab Reading Challenge. Her victory came after fierce competition with top participants from various regions across the kingdom. The cultural and educational event was presided over by the Minister of National Education, Preschool Education, and Sports, Mohamed Saad Barada, alongside the Chargé d'Affaires at the United Arab Emirates Embassy in Rabat, Thani Al-Rumaithi. The ceremony was expertly moderated by media personality and writer Yassine Adnan.

Additionally, students from the Marrakech-Safi Academy showcased exceptional talent, with Anas Oussaid from Berranzaran Secondary School in the Al-Haouz directorate securing second place, while student Malik Bouno from the Awal Institute in the Marrakech directorate achieved fifth place nationally.

In the category for students with special needs, the Rahamna directorate proudly claimed third place nationally, reflecting the commitment of various educational sectors to this pioneering cultural initiative.

It is noteworthy that this edition witnessed unprecedented participation, with over 17,000 educational institutions and branches involved, and exceeding 7 million students from different educational levels across the kingdom.
