The House of Poetry (Dar Chiir) in Marrakech celebrated the successful conclusion of its 9th cultural and poetic season on Saturday evening, marking the end of a year filled with vibrant activities and meaningful encounters that transformed poetry into a space for dialogue and interaction among diverse experiences and sensitivities. This closing ceremony featured an artistic and poetic evening blending poetry readings, book signings, and tributes, along with musical performances that provided an opportunity to reflect on the key highlights of this cultural institution's program over the past season.

The event was enriched by poetic readings from talented poets such as Abderrahmane Ouhamou, Hamza El Khazoum, Khadija Saâdi, and Youssef Aït Lmouden, who shared excerpts from their respective poetic journeys with the audience at the House. Additionally, the program included book signing sessions and tributes to several individuals who have played a vital role in supporting the House of Poetry in Marrakech and contributed to the success of its annual program. These tributes recognized the efforts of staff and collaborators, as well as the cultural initiative and young talent categories.

Musical performances punctuated the various segments of the evening, adding an artistic dimension to the poetry readings and tributes, thereby transforming this gathering into a true celebration of poetry, art, and the public that has accompanied the House's activities throughout the season. During the occasion, the director of the House of Poetry in Marrakech, Abdelhak Mifrani, emphasized that the closing ceremony serves as an opportunity to honor all poets, writers, collaborators, and regular attendees who have contributed to the success of the cultural season. He further noted that the diversity of the program reflects the institution's commitment to continue developing its experience and renewing its approaches to cultural action.

Looking ahead, Mifrani expressed the House of Poetry's ambition for its next cultural season, aiming to broaden the presence and dissemination of poetry among diverse audiences while continuing to support the transformations within Moroccan poetry and opening up to various poetic experiences. He highlighted that Dar Chiir is set to launch its 10th cultural and poetic season next September, based on a new and exceptional concept that aims to emphasize the evolutions and inquiries surrounding poetry while fostering a wider dissemination of poetry among both creators and enthusiasts.

Established in September 2017 through a partnership between the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication and the Department of Culture and Communication in the Sharjah government of the United Arab Emirates, the House of Poetry in Marrakech is dedicated to promoting poetic creations and enhancing the visibility and documentation of Moroccan poetry.
