Celebrating Talents: The Conclusion of the 2026 Morocco Gaming Expo

Morocco Gaming Expo 2026 Concludes with a Showcase of Local Talent

On May 25, 2026, the third edition of the Morocco Gaming Expo (MGE 2026) successfully wrapped up in Rabat, taking place from May 20 to 24 under the theme "Moroccan Talent." This prestigious event, held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, highlighted the creativity, innovation, and craftsmanship of young Moroccan talents, who are playing a pivotal role in enhancing Morocco's image in the gaming and e-sports industries.

The expo attracted a diverse range of participants, including hardware manufacturers, telecom operators, training organizations, and cloud gaming providers, all of whom presented their technologies, infrastructures, and platforms to studios and gamers alike. The closing ceremony was marked by the presentation of awards to winners across various key categories, where trophies, medals, and financial rewards were distributed to the top teams and individual players based on their performance.

A special award was given for the best project showcased during MGE 2026, alongside additional accolades recognizing outstanding talents and performances. Furthermore, prizes were awarded by partners and institutions supporting the gaming industry in Morocco. In a statement to the press, Nissrine Souissi, the exhibition's commissioner, expressed her delight at the significant turnout at MGE 2026, particularly from the youth aged 18 to 25, demonstrating a growing interest in the electronic gaming sector.

Ms. Souissi noted the strong participation of Moroccan startups, which took the opportunity to share their experiences with foreign investors and international experts who led sessions and training workshops aimed at young Moroccans, thereby fostering invaluable opportunities for learning and experience exchange. She reported that several Moroccan startups successfully attracted the interest of foreign investors, with some already committing to invest in their projects. The main objective of this expo is to create bridges of cooperation between Moroccan and international companies, encourage investment, and open new employment and training prospects for young enthusiasts in this sector.

This edition offered visitors a variety of activities, including the "Government Forum" for discussions on public policies and international partnerships, the "Business Forum" focused on innovation and business opportunities, the "Game Safe Forum" dedicated to security and ethics, the "Game Engine Forum" exploring development technologies, and the "Game Dev Forum" for creators, coders, and artists. Through panels, conferences, and workshops led by both Moroccan and foreign speakers, these forums catered to professionals, students, entrepreneurs, and enthusiasts in the sector, aiming to unveil market trends, discuss industry challenges, and promote new forms of cooperation.

The hosting of the third edition of the Morocco Gaming Expo in Rabat further solidifies the city’s recognition by UNESCO as the World Book Capital for 2026 (April 2026 to April 2027), acknowledging the rich historical heritage of the Kingdom’s capital and actualizing the enlightened Royal Vision to establish Rabat as the City of Light, the Moroccan capital of culture.
