On Monday, August 10, 2026, the Marrakech-Safi region hosted an official gathering to commemorate the National Day for Moroccans residing abroad. This event served as a significant platform to emphasize the vital role of the Moroccan community abroad in supporting the nation’s development trajectory, fostering investment, and sharing expertise, all while contributing to the Kingdom's global presence in alignment with Morocco's Vision 2030 objectives.
The meeting was presided over by the Governor of the Marrakech-Safi region, alongside regional officials, local elected representatives, security representatives, and various stakeholders from decentralized institutions. In his address, the Governor highlighted the dynamic developmental landscape of Marrakech, detailing the numerous infrastructural projects launched to enhance the city's quality of life, boost its appeal, and solidify its status as a prime national and international investment and tourism destination.
Empowering the Moroccan Community Abroad
In this context, the Governor underscored the essential role that Moroccans living abroad play as active partners in national, regional, and local development. With their accumulated skills, experiences, and knowledge in diverse fields, they bring valuable contributions through investment, technology transfer, and innovation, thereby strengthening cooperation and showcasing Morocco's economic and tourism potential.
The event also served as an opportunity to present the services available to Moroccans living abroad. The Governor visited various booths and platforms set up at the regional headquarters, featuring services from decentralized entities, public institutions, banking institutions, and service companies. During this occasion, presentations were made regarding the various services designed for the Moroccan diaspora, as well as digital solutions adopted to streamline processes, enhance service quality, and improve communication with community members.
Furthermore, attendees had the chance to submit requests, complaints, and suggestions, which were recorded for referral to the designated department handling issues related to Moroccans abroad at the Marrakech administration. The aim is to address these concerns in coordination with relevant authorities while adhering to existing laws and regulations.
This national commemoration in the Marrakech-Safi region reaffirms the importance of the Moroccan diaspora's engagement in the Kingdom's developmental dynamics and strengthens their contributions to various national projects, aligning with the aspirations linked to Morocco's 2030 vision.
