A Profound Religious Vigil in Commemoration of the Prophet's Birth
The recent religious vigil held in Rabat was a significant event, characterized by the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and praises dedicated to the Prophet Sidna Mohammed, may peace and blessings be upon Him. This gathering saw a notable address delivered by the Minister of Habous and Islamic Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Toufiq, in the presence of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. During his speech, the minister highlighted the accomplishments of the Higher Council and local councils of Ulema, emphasizing the important role of these bodies in promoting Islamic values.
Honoring the Legacy of the Prophet
In his address, Minister Toufiq noted that on the occasion of last year's Aid Al Mawlid Annabaoui, His Majesty the King entrusted the Higher Council of Ulema with various initiatives to commemorate the 15th century anniversary of the Prophet's birth. Throughout the year, significant gatherings were held, where prayers were offered in honor of the Prophet, and the noble morals of the Seal of the Messengers were preached, all in accordance with the King's directives.
The minister articulated that the unwavering attachment of the Moroccan nation to the Prophet is manifested through two fundamental expressions: one political and the other emotional. The political expression is found in the continuous legacy of the Commandery of the Faithful, upheld by the descendants of the Prophet, while the emotional expression is reflected in the Moroccan people's emphasis on the virtues of the Messenger of God. This is showcased through the works of two renowned Moroccan scholars from the city of Ceuta, namely Cadi Ayad, with his treatise on the beneficial virtues of acknowledging the Prophet's rights, and Abou Abbès Al Ozfi, known for his anthology of poems celebrating the birth of the illustrious Prophet. Additionally, the Imam Jazouli's work, "The Guides to the Ways of Good," has been pivotal in the Moroccan struggle to liberate coastal cities during the modern era.
Furthermore, the minister expressed that the Moroccan nation has sought refuge in the guidance of the Prophet, demonstrating love through obedience. Today, the Ulema and scholars are deeply aware of the essence of the Prophet's teachings and are actively working within the framework of the communication plan "Tassdid Tabligh" to convey the message of monotheism, as founded in the Holy Quran and the Prophet’s mission. This message emphasizes the moral liberation from both individual and collective selfishness, fostering a genuine reform in religious devotion.
In a symbolic gesture, the Minister of Habous and Islamic Affairs presented the King with the Arabic book "Dakhirat Al Muhtaj Fi Assalati Ala Sahibi Alliwae Wa Taj," published by the ministry and referencing numerous manuscripts preserved in royal, public, and private libraries both within Morocco and abroad. This publication is a continuation of the King's high directives, which last year called for the commemoration of the 15th century of the Prophet's birth through the publication of Moroccan heritage works related to prayers for the Prophet and the contributions of Moroccan Ulema in this field.
The religious vigil was attended by the Prime Minister, Presidents of both Chambers of Parliament, Advisors to His Majesty the King, government officials, heads of constitutional bodies, senior officers from the Royal Armed Forces, members of the accredited Islamic diplomatic corps in Rabat, as well as numerous scholars and civil and military figures. This celebration, led by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Amir Al-Mouminine, aligns with the tradition of His illustrious ancestors who have consistently commemorated the anniversary of the birth of the Messenger of Mercy, the Prophet Sidna Mohammed, may peace and blessings be upon Him. This anniversary embodies the dawn of guidance for humanity, propelled by the message of the Seal of the Prophets, promoting justice and good deeds for all to live in peace and harmony.
