A Night of Poetry in Rabat Honoring Allal El Fassi's Legacy
In an inspiring initiative, the Allal El Fassi Foundation, in collaboration with the Moroccan House of Poetry, is set to host a poignant evening dedicated to the theme "Youth in the Poetry of Allal El Fassi". This event, taking place on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at the foundation's headquarters, aims to celebrate the vital role that youth play in the rejuvenation and vitality of the nation. The evening will feature a rich tapestry of poetry readings, musical performances, and critical analyses, all designed to honor the legacy of a poet who profoundly understood the significance of youth as the soul of society.
The gathering is envisioned as a vibrant space for artistic dialogue, merging poetry, song, and reflective critique, paying homage to Allal El Fassi's vision. The program will commence at 4:30 PM with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by an opening speech from the session's chair, poet and professor Najib Khaddari. At 4:45 PM, poet and critic Abdel Salam Al-Masnaoui will present a study focused on the theme of youth within El Fassi’s poetry.
As the evening progresses, renowned poetess Khouloud Bennis will lead poetic readings at 5:15 PM, followed by Khadija Al-Massoudi, who will perform sung poetry accompanied by musician Hiba Makkawi at 5:30 PM. The event will culminate with selected readings from Allal El Fassi's poetic works at 5:50 PM, concluding with a warm gathering over tea at 6:05 PM, honoring all guests in attendance.
